The Hon Wera Mori MP was first elected to PNG’s National Parliament in 2012 as member for the electorate of Chuave Open in Chimbu Province. He was appointed Vice Minister for Mining from August 2012 and Minister for Commerce and Industry following the formation of O’Neill-Abel Cabinet in August 2017 until June this year, when he was re-appointed to the portfolio in the Marape-Steven Government. Paul was appointed the inaugural Managing Director of PNG’s national telecommunications wholesaler, PNG Dataco, in March 2014. Prior to his appointment, he held various executive positions with the Independent Public Business Corporation (now Kumul Consolidated Holdings). An electrical and communications engineer by training, Paul was the team lead in conceptualising PNG’s National Transmission Network (NTN).
