Practical Information

Where to stay, how to get there and more

Getting there

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is located in South Brisbane, a few minutes’ walk from Brisbane’s central business district (over the Victoria Street Bridge).

The conference is being held in the Plaza Auditorium, on the Grey St (river) side of the centre.

It is around 30 minutes by car from Brisbane International Airport.

Alternatively, the AirTrain connects to South Brisbane station, a short walk to BCEC and the two hotels below.

Gala dinner

The Gala Dinner will start from 6.30pm on the evening of Day 1 (Monday 12 August) at The Rooftop, Level 12 at  Rydges South Bank Brisbane (adjacent to the conference venue).

As ever, it will be a special evening, with excellent food, premium wines and a live acoustic guitar performance.

Attire is the same as for the conference (business casual).

Space is limited, so attendance is strictly for conference delegates – please purchase your ticket when you register for the conference.

Accommodation

There are many 4 to 5 star hotels close to the venue.

However, we have arranged special rates with a couple that are very close to BCEC.

Novotel South Bank Brisbane Hotel is a modern hotel with swimming pool conveniently located in South Brisbane.  The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, and is in close proximity to South Bank Parklands.

For Reservations, a discounted delegate rate has been provided by the hotel for the dates 9-13 August inclusive and bookings can be made via https://www.idem.events/r/bai-png-investment-conference.  Alternatively, you may call the Hotel on +617 3295 4100 and quote “PNG Investment Conference 2024”.  Note, that all rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking and delegates are encouraged to make accommodation bookings early.

Rydges South Bank Brisbane Hotel is located in the heart of Brisbane’s South Bank and is directly adjacent to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Reservations for delegates can be done via  www.rydges.com/private-page/residential-delegate-direct-booking-page or by calling +617 3364 0800 and quoting PNG Investment Conference 2024. Rates offered for delegates are 20% off the Best Flexible Rate at time of booking.

As availability is limited during that period, the hotel has suggested delegates can sign up to their loyalty program “Priority Guest Rewards” via the link www.pgr.com.au and check availability and rates as members which enables access to special sale offers.  Alternately, delegates can contact hotel reservations department via email [email protected]or call on +617 3364 0800 (MON-FRI 09am to 4pm).
