Getting there

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is located in South Brisbane, a few minutes’ walk from Brisbane’s central business district (over the Victoria Street Bridge).

The conference is being held in the Boulevard Auditorium, on the Grey St (river) side of the centre.

It is around 30 minutes by car from Brisbane International Airport.

Alternatively, the AirTrain connects to South Brisbane station, a short walk to BCEC and the two hotels below.

On the evening of Sunday 9 August, delegates are invited to join us for the pre-conference networking drinks (venue TBC), from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Drinks will also be served at the conclusion of Day One (10 August) in the Expo networking area.

Gala dinner

The Gala Dinner will start from 6.30pm on the evening of Day 1 (Monday 10 August), at the Rydges South Bank Brisbane.

As ever, it will be a special evening, with excellent food, premium wines and entertainment.

Attire is the same as for the conference (business casual).

Space is limited, so attendance is strictly for conference delegates – please purchase your ticket when you register for the conference.

Accommodation

There are many 4- and 5-star hotels close to the venue.

Getting to Brisbane from Papua New Guinea

Air Niugini is the official Airline Partner of the 2026 Business Advantage Papua New Guinea Investment Conference.

It currently has daily flights between Port Moresby and Brisbane.

Visa requirements

  • All international travellers require a visa to enter Australia.
  • The Business Visitor Visa supports attendance at conferences and meetings. This can be applied for online here.

Before travelling to Australia

  • Check you comply with relevant state or territory testing and quarantine requirements via States (australia.gov.au)
  • Check details of an existing visa through the Visa Entitlement Verification Online service  – VEVO, or update details of a new passport online.

About Brisbane's South Bank

Brisbane’s South Bank is full of modern amenities and the South Bank parklands provide excellent recreational space and access to the city’s riverside walking and running paths.

Here are some useful places to bear in mind:

  • An IGA supermarket (with an excellent deli section) can be found at 103 Melbourne Street.
  • Woolworths Metro, 217 Grey St (corner Grey St & Melbourne St)
  • An ATM can be found at Commonwealth Bank, 121 Melbourne Street.
  • Fish Lane is a new dining area, with multiple restaurants/bars.

Our food and drink tips

  • Lune, 15 Manning St. Branch of the famous Melbourne croissanterie.
  • The Terrace Rooftop Bar at the Emporium Hotel for a nightcap with great views.
  • Espresso Garage, open from 6am daily, is nestled between Grey and Little Stanley Streets.
  • Julius, 77 Grey St, on the corner of Fish Lane.
  • Chu the Phat, 111 Melbourne Street. East Asian fusion restaurant.
