The Government of PNG appointed Elizabeth Genia as Acting Governor for the Bank of Papua New Guinea, PNG’s central bank, in January 2023. She is the first woman to fill the role.
She has nearly four decades of experience working in PNG’s Central Bank and was previously Assistant Governor, Corporate Affairs.
Acting Governor Genia has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of PNG.
