Prime Minister Marape was elected PNG’s eighth Prime Minister by Parliament in May 2019. He is the member for the Tari-Pori Open Electorate seat in Hela Province. He also holds the Ministry of the Bougainville Affairs. The Prime Minister was first elected to Parliament in 2007. He has previously served as Minister for Education from 2008 to 2011 and as Minister for Finance and Leader of Government Business from 2017 until 2019.
