ABOUT
Mr Meketa is currently the Managing Director of the National Energy Authority, the National Focal Point of PNG to the APEC Energy Working Group, National Focal Point of PNG to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), National Focal Point of PNG to the International Solar Alliance (ISA), PNG Focal Point to the Global Geothermal Energy Alliance (GGEA), PNG Focal Point to the World Green Economic Organisation (WGEO) and chair of the Pacific Senior Energy Officials meeting (SOM).
Mr Ronald Meketa holds a Master’s degree in chemical Engineering from the University of Sriwijyaya, in South Sumatra, Indonesia.
He has been involved in decision making on projects in Australia and Papua New Guinea, engaging in mining and oil gas industry during his professional career and has for almost 2 decades worked in Operations.
Mr Meketa is also the Board Member for the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC). Mr Meketa was the Chief Inspector for Oil and Gas, with Department of Petroleum before assuming his role at the National Energy Authority.
