Alan is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected financial journalists and commentators. The owner, publisher and editor of The Constant Investor, he began his outstanding career as a cadet on The Australian newspaper.

Since those early days Alan has been a columnist for Chanticleer in the Australian Financial Review (AFR) and Editor of the AFR. Alan has also served as Editor of The Age, presented the ABC’s Inside Business and ABC News, and written for The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
In 1995 Alan joined the ABC, first as a reporter on the 7.30 Report and then as host of Inside Business and finance presenter on ABC News, a role he continues to own.
In 2005 Alan Kohler launched the Eureka Report, a newsletter for self-directed investors, and in 2007 he was the largest shareholder and CEO of Business Spectator, a 24-hour a day online business publication. In 2012, those businesses were sold to News Corporation.
Alan is also columnist for The New Daily.
